Answering a Prayer for Military Family

They have owned their home for 10 years. As an Army medic called to active duty, James has tried to make the needed repairs to his home, but has struggled to do so from lack of funds and assignments away from San Diego. He is now in special training, preparing to be deployed to Iraq. His greatest concern is leaving his wife and four children, two of whom have asthma, in a home that is infested with mold and requires numerous repairs.

Needed repairs currently being assessed:
• Mold remediation  (mold has been found in most of the rooms, which is the contributing factor to the illness of two children)
• Staircase to entrance - safety hazard – demo and rebuild
• Plumbing - leak/drainage issue
• Toilet replacement
• Demo and install new cabinets in bathroom and kitchen
• New flooring – environmentally friendly
• Electrical fixtures require replacement (all electrical outlets to be checked)
• Roof Replacement
• Construct retaining wall
• Paint - exterior/interior
• General clean-up - removal of clutter
• Complete construction of outside storage area
• Landscape: secure area for children to play and plant garden
• New beds
  

Renovation scheduled to begin in July and August.
